ESCAPING THE “PAPPU” IMAGE AND BREAKING THE LETHARGY, RAHUL EMERGES AS A SERIOUS CONTENDOR FOR 2024 ELECTIONS, IF NOT FOR 2019.

Rahul Gandhi’s changing attitude has definitely given an interesting swing to the 2019 poll; neither it is going to be a one sided war nor a dull play. The way he strongly projected himself as a Prime Ministerial face may be far different from the style adopted by the Congress, Sonia and Rahul himself, since ages, but lies very close to what is prevailing in the current political scenario! It has outrageously implemented that Rahul has, anyway, learnt experimenting in politics. To some extent, being the Congress President this 48 year old young leader can be speculated as the epicenter of the entire opposition. In accordance with the same, he upsurging as more communicative and confident personality is undoubtedly good for democracy.

But, the fact cannot be denied, that his competition is with an experienced leader like Narendra Modi who enjoys an extremely long and exceptional political career. Rahul still stands far off from the expertise Modi inculcates, say it be social media handlings or meticulous election campaignings. But yes, nevertheless of his long denial to social-media activeness, Rahul was ultimately compelled to join the said brigade. The year also marked Rahul Gandhi’s highlighting remarks on dynasty in University of California that also made headlines. But, with Rahul’s transformed phase, will the party which is undergoing such shaking identity crisis be able to restore its strong status in 2019 where his claims will not remain merely as his kiddish endeavour. This will depend on the upcoming state election results to a great extent.

Will Rahul succeed in securing Karnataka? Will he be able to take leverage of Anti Incumbency in the states of Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and MP? Will he be able to make iconic use of social media alike BJP? Besides, whether or not he will be able to change the furious attitude of the public, developed on account of few firm decisions taken by the current government, all remains a challenge for Rahul Gandhi.

But another major challenge for Rahul Gandhi lies in the fact that whether he will be accepted as a Prime Ministerial Face by the eminent and much experienced leaders in the mahagathbandan, if ever it is formed. How well he can manage all such sporadic events, will prove his political maturity. But to see, Rahul emerging in a status where he is understanding and shouldering his political legacy, is a candy to all the eyes.
